Public Art Tour 4: The Mission District: Considering Environment: From Alleyways to Houses and Hospitals.

Thursday, June 15, 3:15 pm - 6:00 pm

The Mission District is one of San Francisco’s most vibrant neighborhoods with a unique mix of cultures and creative energy.  This tour will begin with exploring the street art and social justice murals that the Mission is known for. We will also visit the David Ireland House* at 500 Capp Street -- the late conceptual artist’s home and site-specific artwork, which is widely considered a landmark of American art. We will then tour the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital where the San Francisco Arts Commission  recently completed an extensive collection of artworks showcasing the vital role that artwork plays in creating a healing environment.
