As the first CEO of the Houston Arts Alliance, Glus has provided strategic leadership to Houston’s nonprofit municipal arts agency, a public-private partnership. Under his direction, HAA is responsible for long-term cultural planning and overall development of the sector in collaboration with arts, academic, business, tourism, and governmental leadership. The Arts Alliance’s programs and services help build and foster a vibrant, creative community through initiatives such as a city-wide arts database; an award-wining incubator program; intensive capacity building; and the Business Volunteers for the Arts Program. He has an M.A. in art history from the University of Illinois, and his undergraduate work was in urban economics and public policy at Indiana University and the University of Kent, Canterbury, England.

Kate Patterson received her B.A. in art history from Smith College in 2000. Prior to joining the Arts Commission, Kate was Manager of Public Relations & Marketing at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, which opened a new building in San Francisco designed by Daniel Libeskind in 2008. From 2003 to 2005, she was the Marketing & Sales Manager at Acoustiguide Inc., a leading interpretive audio and multimedia tour company based in NYC. During her tenure at the San Francisco Arts Commission, Kate has been involved with a number of high-profile civic projects including the world premiere of a 15-ton sculpture by renowned contemporary artist Zhang Huan and the opening of San Francisco International Airport’s new Terminal 2.

Robert Rivard

Robert Rivard 59 is a longtime journalist, author and communicator. He retired as editor and executive vice president for news at the San Antonio Express-New, a Hearst newspaper, late last year after holding the position for 14 years during a 35-year career as an award-winning newspaper and magazine journalist and editor. Today Bob serves as a partner in The Arsenal Group, consulting with a diverse set of clients in Texas and Latin America. More recently he has become more directly involved in a number of land and real estate development projects in downtown San Antonio and South Texas, as well as advising Mexican national investors with businesses in South Texas.
He recently launched a new digital media enterprise, The Rivard Report, focused on the transformation of urban San Antonio, including reform of the city’ public schools. A new weekly prime time program, RIVARD, is set to launch later this summer on KLRN-TV, the public television station in San Antonio. The half hour interview program will focus on the core city’s most interesting individuals and projects. Three pilot programs will be broadcast in May. Rivard is a Political Science Graduate from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a 1996 graduate of Northwestern University's Executive Management Program at its Media Management Center.
