The Artist’s View: Collaboration & the Public Realm

This session highlights strategies and diverse forms of collaboration that artists working in the public realm have employed to deepen and extend their practice. Attend this session to hear from artists as they discuss their work addressing urgent issues of immigration, racial justice, gentrification, urban planning, and cultural policy through long-term engagement as well as the obstacles and opportunities for working in public space. This session will examine how these artists navigate the politicized nature of public space as well as their roles as change-makers in mobilizing community stewardship of place and incorporating underrepresented voices into public discourse.
Audience: This session is designed for those new to the field or who want to brush up on their skills.
