A River Runs Through It

Saturday, June 9, 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Tour 7
The San Antonio River is the heart and soul of San Antonio. It is a river "hecho a mano" and inspired by the vision of a young architect in 1929 and created by the hands of skilled craftsmen during the WPA era. The contemplative and lush landscaping of the river offer vistas and surprises at each twist and turn, connecting art, commerce, leisure, and cuisine. Our journey begins at the 125-year-old Pearl, a dynamic and evolving urban environment for culture and culinary arts. We will journey downstream along the Museum Reach that is anchored with 12 impressive art installations and embellished with exquisite handcrafted details. You will also make stops along the way to interact with the creators and arts organizations that are at the heart of the river.
