Arts Education Preconference

Join arts education leaders from across the country for an opportunity to examine the future of sustainable, student-centered arts education with your peers in the field. Work to design action-oriented strategies for moving decision-makers from simply valuing arts education to prioritizing arts education. Through a series of World Café -style table discussions, we will focus on identifying strategies, tools, and actions to address seven identified arts education trends, as well as three pillars of arts education. The preconference will be facilitated by Jeanne Schulze of Jeanne Schulze & Associates as well as members of the Arts Education Council.

Registration will be available for Arts Education Preconference attendees at Convention Registration Desk C, located at on the 4th Floor of the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, from 10:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24.  All Arts Education Preconference plenary sessions, Table Discussions, and meals will take place in Harborside Ballroom E, unless otherwise noted.

Derrick Ashong
Derrick Ashong - or DNA as he is sometimes known will deliver the keynote presentation at the Arts Education Preconference on Thursday, June 24. Ashong will discuss the impact of arts education and the value of the arts in creating social change.
