Meghan has been serving the City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) Program since 2004, focusing on efficient and creative approaches to management of multiple ongoing public art projects, requests for artwork donations/loans, preservation of the public art collection, as well as innovative public and educational programming for Austin's creatives. As an AIPP Coordinator from 2004-2010, she managed artist selection processes and contracts for a variety of projects, including streetscapes, parks facilities, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and launched the program’s first temporary public art exhibition. During this time, she also designed and managed several annual workshop series for artists in the field, as well as conducted tours, talks and other public programming. Today, she oversees program administration, manages several major projects, and serves as staff liaison to the Art in Public Places Panel. She has worked with the public art programs at Texas Tech University and Alameda County, California. Prior to her career in public art, she served as Policy Director for the Missouri School Boards Association and Director of Development and Outreach for the USS Hornet Museum. She has a B.A. in English and political science from Rockhurst University, and an M.A. in museum science from Texas Tech University.
