Marisa Williamson

Marisa Williamson is a performance, video, and installation artist based in Newark, NJ. She received her B.A. from Harvard University and her M.F.A. from CalArts. She has staged site-specific performances at and in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, Storm King Art Center, Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her videos, performances, and installations are exhibited in galleries nationally and internationally. She was a 2012 participant in the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture and the Whitney Museum’s Independent Study Program in 2014-2015. She served as the 2018 Ruffin Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at the University of Virginia. Williamson has taught at the Pratt Institute, Rutgers University, and joins the art faculty at the University of Hartford in 2018.
