Marc D. Folk began his career at The Arts Commission in Toledo, Ohio over 20 years ago as an instructor in the Young Artists At Work program; in subsequent years he served in a variety of roles and began his current position as Executive Director in 2006. Through his leadership, The Arts Commission’s focus on connecting economic and community development with the arts has grown significantly. Marc represents The Arts Commission on numerous local, regional and national committees to advocate for the arts, including membership in the United States Urban Arts Federation and leadership roles as past president of the Ohio Citizens for the Arts and former co-chair of the Toledo Area Cultural Leaders. Awards include the Ohio Arts Council Governor’s Award for Arts Administration and the University of Toledo’s Outstanding Alumnus in the Arts. An avid record collector and DJ, Marc lives in Toledo’s Old West End with his son Holden.
