Jessica Nuñez is the Explorers Program Coordinator at the Newark Museum. She focuses on Youth Development and Community Outreach. Prior to the Newark Museum, she developed Family Programming for the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. She was awarded the Bill Moggridge Professional Development Grant, which allowed her to obtain a Certificate in Child Care Management, Early Childhood Education and Teaching from New York University School of Professional Studies. Under her leadership, the Explorers Program received the 2017 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award for creative youth development. Her vision is greatly inspired by her time in the Explorers Program as a teen. Jessica has her Master’s Degree in Spanish Translation and Interpreting from Rutgers University. Ms. Nuñez recently completed the Innovative Cultural Advocacy Fellowship from the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute. She is greatly interested in enhancing museum education with cultural advocacy and youth organizing.
