Christy NaMee Eriksen is an award-winning artist, teaching artist, and activist whose work is grounded in social justice and community engagement. NaMee has shared stages with Patricia Smith, Beau Sia, Bao Phi, and her / her work has appeared in such places as The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, The Roundhouse in London, Angry Asian Man, and the "Revolutionary Mothering: Love on the Front Lines" anthology. She is grateful to have been mentored by community organizers and spoken word poets who work at the nexus of art, culture, and activism. NaMee has been honored to receive the Mayor's Award for Artist of the Year, two Rasmuson Foundation Individual Artist Awards, and the Loft Immersion Fellowship. She co-founded the grassroots spoken word org Woosh KinaadeiyĆ­, leads workshops for youth and adults, serves on the JAHC Board of Trustees, and runs a post office / gathering space in Juneau called Kindred Post.
